Get ready for all the softball action at the Take Off to Tokyo!

Just before the Softball Qualifier Event it will remain exciting which eight teams will participate in the tournament. Only after the European Fastpitch Softball Championship in July 2019, all the participating teams will be known.

Throughout the Softball Qualifier all game results and standings will be posted to this page. All games can also be followed by play-by-play and live stream.

PRELIMINARIESROUND ROBIN

The eight competing softball teams will be divided into two groups. The draw for Group A and Group B will take place on the 10th of July, at the WBSC headquarters in Lausanne.

The tournament will open with a Round Robin series between the 23rd and 25th of July. Four games are scheduled per day, with each team playing off against the other teams in their selected group.

A1 - The Netherlands

A2 - Great Britain

A3 - Spain

A4 - South Africa

GROUP B

B1 - Italy

B2 - France

B3 - Czech Republic

B4 - Botswana

*If Team Kingdom of the Netherlands qualifies for the Road to Tokyo, they will automatically be assigned to the A1 position in the Round Robin.

FINALSSUPER ROUND

The top two teams from both Group A & B will then advance to the next round. The Super Round will consist of four games played across the next two days.

A total of 16 games will be played during the tournament. There will not be a final match played. The team that finished with the highest ranking after the Super Round will be announced as the winner, and receive their ticket to Tokyo.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

The top eight softball teams from the Europe-Africa region will travel to the Netherlands and compete at the Take Off to Tokyo in 2019. The tournament will be hosted in Utrecht from the 23rd to the 27th of July, and will showcase six European and two African countries as they battle it out on the softball field. Eight teams will compete, but only one team will earn their ticket to Tokyo.
