Great Britain grabbed their second win of the tournament with a 15-0 win over South Africa. The European team scored 10 runs in the first inning and later another five to secure the victory.
Nerissa Myers put her team on the board with a 2-RBI triple in the bottom of the first. Then Chloe Wigington and Amie Hutchinson hit an RBI single each, and Sydney Brown produced two more runs with a double to right field. Brown finished the game with a perfect 3 for 3, with 4 runs batted in.
Great Britain added three more runs in the second and closed the game with a walk-off 2-RBI single to left field off the bat of Alana Snow.
Elizabeth Fleming took the win after 2 innings of work allowing only 1 hit, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Georgina Corrick pitched a perfect third inning, with 2 Ks to close the game. The loss was charged to Chesterney Fortune.
Great Britain improves its record to 2-0, and tomorrow will play their last game of the Opening Round against the Netherlands. With no wins in two matches, Botswana will take on Spain tomorrow at 1 p.m.
